Joy~Nostalg Foundation draws from the language of AmBisyon Natin 2040, which is the collective long-term vision of the Filipino people, as consolidated by the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA).
Filipinos are strongly rooted.
Filipino families live together; there is work-life balance so that there is time to spend with family even for members who work. On weekends, families and friends enjoy time together in parks and recreational centers. It is a high-trust society with a strong sense of community. There are volunteer opportunities, and Filipinos spend time to serve the community, help others who are in need, and contribute to various causes.

No one is poor, no one is ever hungry. Filipino families live in comfortable homes with the desired amenities and secure tenure. Families and friends are within reach because transport is convenient and affordable, and they can take a vacation together within the country and abroad. Children receive quality education so that they realize their full potentials and become productive members of society. Decent jobs that bring sustainable income are available, including opportunities for entrepreneurship.

Filipinos feel secure over their entire lifetime. They expect to live long and enjoy a comfortable life upon retirement. There are resources to cover unexpected expenses, and there are savings. They feel safe in all places in the country. Filipinos trust their government because it is free of corruption and provides service to all its citizens equally.

Joy~Nostalg Foundation (JNF) began with a simple dream. Our chairman—Jacinto Ng Jr., or Sir Jun, as we call him—wanted to be an architect. He was fascinated by how drawings could come to life. As he pursued a career in property development, he became increasingly aware of the housing crisis faced by low-income Filipino families. For minimum wage earners, paying rent while saving for a home down payment was an almost impossible burden. This realization stirred something deeper in him—a call to be a light for others and to create more than just houses, but lasting impact.
That moment of purpose was sharpened after he spoke at Xavier School’s 60th anniversary. There, he shared a vision for a business model that included a foundation—one rooted in compassion and long-term empowerment. Though met with skepticism, Sir Jun was encouraged to get the ball rolling. He moved forward and turned the vision into reality.
JNF’s first major initiative was the Home Empowerment Learning Program (HELP), which prepares future homeowners for the responsibilities of homeownership and community life. Delivered in-person, online, and through our digital platform hopeful.ph, HELP has reached over 110,000 beneficiaries with education on financial literacy, responsible homeownership, and Filipino values. Its impact became clear during the pandemic, when communities guided by HELP showed the least decline in housing loan payments through Pag-IBIG.
JNF has since grown into a movement that nurtures not just homeowners, but entire communities. We implement family development and spiritual development programs, promote livelihood through cooperatives, and build safer neighborhoods through leadership training and emergency preparedness. These efforts support our vision of strongly rooted (matatag), comfortable (maginhawa), and secure (panatag) communities, aligned with Ambisyon Natin 2040, which is the common aspiration of the Filipino people.
It takes a community to build a home, and JNF is committed to expanding its impact, touching more families, and strengthening the foundation of Filipino communities. By driving meaningful change and participating in nation-building, JNF continues to be a catalyst for progress in the country.
The Joy~Nostalg Foundation team consists of dynamic individuals bound by our passion to be of service to the communities we serve. We joyfully share in the mission of transforming lives of Filipinos.
